Jacqueline (Bonilla) and Nicolas (Echanove) are so in love that they decide to get married "until death takes them apart". When love dies and infidelity takes its place, Jacqueline decides there's no time to fulfill the promise of their votes. She begins to plot her husband's murder, but destiny is committed to surprise her in many ways.

The story of the couple from the very first meeting to break up told from a view of a woman, Francoise. The film shares the same plot with "Jean-Marc ou La vie conjugale", that tells the same story from another perspective.

Johan and Marianne's marriage appears stable, but their relationship begins to unravel when Johan reveals an affair. Over several years, we follow their separation, divorce, and continued interactions as they form new relationships while remaining emotionally bound to one another.

Mabel goes home after being humiliated by a masher whom her husband won't fight. The husband goes off to a bar and gets drunk.
