This movie version, using most of the original stage cast, was photographed on location throughout the Pacific Northwest -- in the forests of the North Cascades, on the Skykomish River, and in the stately mansions of Seattle. The result is a stunning achievement: a retelling with some delightful surprises for even the most devoted fans of the original tale.

Snow White was left all alone with her stepmother, an angry and evil woman! From that day on, the evil stepmother, together with her helper and butler Aimé, held sway in the cold and nasty castle. And every day her mysterious mirror told her that she, and no one else, was the fairest in the land..

Snow White enlists the help of her petite pals to go up against a vain queen, a role attacked with gusto by Angelica Pickles. Instead of marrying the handsome prince, Snow White wants to prove that friends are much more important than objects.

In an accident, Snow White accidentally fell off a cliff and although she was not injured, she lost her memory as a result. Three cute little pigs, they saved Snow White who had nowhere else to go, and warmly invited her to live with them. Thus, Snow White and the cute three little pigs spent a carefree and happy time. The Snow Queen is always looking for Snow White, and at the same time, the evil Granny Wolf sends her minions, the Hunter and the Black Wolf, to catch Snow White before the Snow Queen does.

A bizarre mechanic tells a traveler the story of a bank employee, Peppino Biancaneve, who with the help of a disc is trying to put together the words he would like to use to ask for the hand of the daughter of the jeweler Carlo Casertoni, but while he mulls over the sentences he should pronounce to his future father-in-law he comes across a strange individual who could be a bringer of bad luck: a jettatore.

Every day, she asks her enchanted mirror who the fairest of them all is. One day, the mirror replies that it is no longer the queen, but Princess Snow White who is the fairest in the land! Enraged, the queen orders her huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and make sure no one ever sees her again. Alone and abandoned, Snow White is left behind in the woods. What will happen to her now? And could the inhabitants of that little cottage in the forest perhaps help her?

The Brothers Grimm's Snow White has been adapted into different art forms around the world, including the beloved 1937 animated film by Walt Disney Studios. Similar to that version, Chow Sze-luk and Lo Yu-kei's adaptation is a light-hearted musical romance, but the Cantonese version's stepmother doesn't have a magic mirror, nor does she care if she's the prettiest of them all. The two also adds intentional Chinese touches to the story, even replacing the iconic poisoned apple with a Chinese BBQ pork bun. However, one thing does remain: the heroic prince rides on a white horse to save the day.
