Some guys are stuck in a ' one-chain-on-one-saw ' mindset, filing on the bar, and using a chain up before removing it. I like to think of my saws like a socket set: power heads = ratchets (1/4", 3/8", 1/2" drive) guide bars = extensions chains = sockets (deep, 6 point, metric, etc.) Choose what you need for the task at hand. So I've been running 24" loops of the Duke's chain for the last couple of weeks and really like it. It's good chain, especially for the price. - It comes with a Husqvarna x cut like tooth profile and is very sharp and aggressive out of the box. - Has the same type of first time using stretch... FOR SALE - Bakersfield, CA - Used works good. Location: Taft Price: $25 Also the chain won't hold an edge even though it's the semi-chisel, so I'm thinking it was run without bar oil and the B&C overheated. 24" bar is 372xp and upwards territory. I'd stick to the 20" it will cut faster and be a lot happier and it will be more balanced. An extra 4 inches of metal will make the saw nose heavy too. Enjoy cutting! Just a quick question, but I have a Husqvarna chain (16" .325 .050 66dl), and was wondering if it was compatible with a Stihl chain (16" .325 .050 67dl)? Can I use these chains with any 16" bar? Are they interchangeable? Thanks in advance for your help. The case was the same, but the con rod was longer on anything in that "family" but the 154SE/254/254xp (the 154 was the first saw in the "family"), and the top cover higher. There is something I don't quite understand with that saw "family" though, and that is why the 262xp etc needs a higher top cover, when the deck height and stroke is the same? 050 will be fine on a 192t, I run it with a 22cc Makita TH saw & it cuts well. There can be some advantage in running 043 in lo output saws and pole saws due to its narrow kerf. Better chain options in 050 with VXL & PS chisel chain. Trade offs with both gauges I suppose. The chain was super dull and the guy reefed on the saw so hard the rear handle was hitting back of the saw. The heat created from running a dull chain killed that saw. Okay I new at this but what are the settings for Oregon chain grinder for the Stihl .325 RS and RM cutters? The Stihl chart is a little confusing since they are not too clear what they are wanting. Hey guys, I have a bar here that's 3/8lp, .050, 56DL. There's a decent sale price on some loops of 3/8lp, .050, 57DL. Wondering if the one extra drive link would be okay to run?
