Berlin provides the backdrop for this crime drama that centers on a military doctor falsely accused of dealing illegal drugs. Determined to prove his innocence, he escapes from the MPs and ends up holing up in the apartment his wife rented. He doesn't know that she has sublet the flat to a nightclub singer. When he finds out, he begs the singer to assist him. She is attracted to him and agrees. The doctor believes that his wife is behind the black-market dealings, but in the end, they find the real culprit.

In the history of baseball there have been 14 "SUBWAY SERIES" between New York's baseball teams for THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. The "Golden Era" of the Subway Series took place between 1947 and 1956 when New York's teams - the Dodgers, Yankees & Giants - were among the best in baseball and there were 7 Subway Series. It started in 1889, when Brooklyn faced New York, and the last subway series was in 2000, when the Mets played the Yankees.

A constable and a subway attendant are working late at night in an underground station when a well-dressed man with a cigar in his teeth enters with his arms around two women dressed in long skirts and jackets, gloves, and fancy hats. The trio laugh and stumble on the platform as if having a hilarious time, getting the attention of the policeman who attempts to stop their bawdy behavior.

Casey enters a subway station nearby City Hall and walks down the tunnel. He lights a fuse to set off a blast and runs away. Thinking the fuse has gone out, he creeps cautiously up to it, when it suddenly goes off, Casey is blown through the tunnel, all the way to Harlem.

In this animation film without words, filmmaker Pierre Hébert and musicians Robert Lepage and René Lussier worked together, and separately, in their respective media. This cinema/music performance recreates, impressionistically, the dehumanizing environment of the urban subway. Drawings etch the outlines of people hurtling through space in underground tunnels. The sound track, elemental and atonal, gives compelling expression to their alienation.

The camera platform was on the front of a New York subway train following another train on the same track. Lighting is provided by a specially constructed work car on a parallel track. At the time of filming, the subway was only seven months old, having opened on October 27, 1904. The ride begins at 14th Street (Union Square) following the route of today's east side IRT, and ends at the old Grand Central Station, built by Cornelius Vanderbuilt in 1869. The Grand Central Station in use today was not completed until 1913.
