Parisian opera star Nora Harrigan is idolized by legions but not her rival Flora Desimone. Edward Courtlandt pursues her, but she rejects him in favor of Herr Rosen. Nora is abducted but by whom is a mystery though Courtlandt is suspected. Once free Nora goes to the south of France accompanied by her parents. By chance she again meets Courtlandt and though she has lost interest in Herr Rosen she remains cool to Edward. Subsequently, Courtlandt discovers that Rosen was responsible for Nora's abduction and Nora finds that Flora and Courtlandt were once married. However, Flora's husband intervenes, forcing his wife to explain the misunderstanding and thus clearing all obstacles from love's path.

This poetic film follows director Marialuisa's journey with Anita and Leticia, Central American women traveling with the Caravan of Mothers of Missing Migrants.

Miles Kody, is a documentary filmmaker. As Miles tapes his interviews with Vic he becomes aware of the appearance of "ghosts" captured on his video monitor. He realizes that the faint energy fields of these ghosts, past victims of the snuff films, are picked up more readily on video...

Directed by and stars Al St. John and the first half is a little below average. It's a variation on the sort of rustic comedies his uncle, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, used to star in with Mabel Normand almost a decade earlier. The gags, while reasonable and appropriate, are, like the cows, milked too much. The pretty girl is swinging on a swing, reading a newspaper and knocks four of her suitors and her father into the water, with a long, slow-motion shot of them plunging into the depths.

In this first project of Kim Longinotto while she was a student at Englands National School of Television and Film she filmed the daily life in a girls boarding school situated in an old isolated castle in Buckinghamshire. Until she was 17, Longinotto lived in this boarding school, finaly she run away from there. In this dark and expressive black and white documentary, Longinotto exposes the repressive school from the students perspective. It seems to be a kind of miniature state with bizzare rules, idigestibel food and absurd punishments. The documentary begins with an graduation ceremony. The director blows her own trumpet, afterwards the film describes the daily routine of schoollife. The film ends up with the students leaving for holidays. As a result of this documentary, the boarding school was closed down one year after the release of the film.

The Spanish-language version is Los Niños en Su Casa, seen on PBS and on the Spanish-language public television network V-me. Their version is hosted by Alina Rosario. Margaret Tait documents her house, studio and garden in Buttquoy, Orkney as the seasons pass. She had lived there from the age of seven and often returned. At the time of filming, the house was about to be taken back by the council - this film is an effective 'goodbye'. Margaret Tait said it 'was meant to define a place, or the feeling of being in one place, with the sense this gives one, not of restriction but of the infinite variations available.'

‘Out of Place’ revolves around a fictional concept of escaping the earth. Surviving as Korean women, we try to escape with a novel voyage from this Earth to another planet. When the bizarre statistics on us gather on this new planet, the voices from the ones who breathe here with one another form echoes, which continue as a round. There, the voices that this society has taught about us, and the voices we speak out for ourselves, coexist like a twin. At the moment of those two voices intersecting and colliding with each other, an unexpected scenery could be found throughout this entire film.

The invisible becomes visible. Every room has a spirit which sleeps beneath the layers of peeling paint and wallpaper. Spirit of Place observes the awakening of such a spirit, coerced into life by moonlight to reveal sumptuous velvets, decaying gilt, and an assemblage of neo-Gothic objects d‘art – a ghostly reflection of its past. In one long, carefully choreographed sequence, pictures animate and a message is disclosed as the motion control camera passes on its programmed course.

Once inseparable, their fractured relationship set by years of silence and a violent episode rooted in homophobia, is tested as they must return to Sk+te’kmujue’kati (the Place of Ghosts) a forest steeped in ancestral memory where time bends. What initiates from trauma soon transforms into an odyssey of healing, as Mise’l and Antle confront their caretaker’s cruelty, the weight of family secrets, and their own deepest fears.

Original journey was intended to be in Valletta, Malta with my bedridden grandmother, metaphorically walking her through her childhood space and time. due to financial and time constraints journey happened in Avebury part inspired by Derek Jarman's Journey to Avebury, preservation and genius loci. preservation of memories as well as of places captured by film. The practice of lending and creating identity to a place. Contrast to a 'non-place'. In the end I ended up with a failed resurrection attempt. Sometimes place need stronger libations.

An insider's perspective of the small, underground community of surfers in Cleveland, Ohio. Theirs is a life of shared dedication for the water and to waves that rarely come. In the backdrop is a Great Lakes city trying to recover from a legacy of lost industry, lost jobs and a river polluted enough to catch on fire. Still this culture persists in this unlikely corner of the surfing universe amid harsh weather and gray skies. For them, the golden age of surfing is right now. And it's happening on the frozen beaches of Lake Erie, five hundred miles from the nearest ocean.
